The displayed works by Sara Grütter are pervaded by an idea of holism, in which personal images interact with material and technique. The center of the exhibition is a spatial group of works consisting of printing plates and their (im)prints. For the realization, the artist worked in the exhibition space and used elements of the wooden floor for woodcuts. Sara Grütter approaches crafts, artworks and materials with an understanding of equality and resonance. Conceptual beginnings are followed by physical movements and reflection, a fluid process creates traces that go beyond the visible.
(no stress) – the subtitle of the first solo exhibition by Sara Grütter – refers to the title of the exhibition series "Quickie of Fame" and a "fast culture" (fast food, fast fashion, etc.). The artist does not want a "quickie of fame" but a "process of tenderness".
She grew up on the Dreispitz in Münchenstein and studied fine arts in Basel and Brussels. Frequently she has worked collaboratively on art projects with Natascha Nüesch as Sara&Natascha. She is also a member of the curatorial collective Dr. Kuckucks Labrador.
