Ein Performance-Abend zum Thema Wassersouveränität – ein Dialog zwischen Basel und Buenos Aires.



Eröffnet wird der Abend mit der experimentellen Drag-Performance „Sirena Rioplatense“ von Ricx Schüpbach – eine ästhetische und kritische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Río de la Plata. Schüpbach, deren* Arbeiten sich dynamisch zwischen Journalismus, visueller Kunst, Performance und Skulptur bewegen, ist in der Schweiz aufgewachsen und lebt seit über einem halben Jahrzehnt in Buenos Aires.



Nach einer kurzen Pause wird Yolanda Esther Natsch – Künstlerin, Kuratorin und Geografielehrerin – unseren lokalen Kontext am Rheinufer reflektieren und thematisch vertiefen.



Den Höhepunkt des Abends bildet das Hauptstück Emerging Sound Disorders des argentinischen Kollektivs Audiostellar: eine Sinnes-Explosion aus Sound, Visuals, Technologie und Tanz, die die Souveränität des Rio Paraná künstlerisch hinterfragt.



Zum Ausklang spielt das Duo Fuego Fatuo – Teil des Audiostellar-Kollektivs – ein Konzert. An der offenen Bar bietet sich Raum für informellen Austausch über die Performances und die behandelten Themen.



Am darauffolgenden Samstag lädt Audiostellar zu einem partizipativen Workshop ein. Dabei haben Teilnehmende die Möglichkeit, das eigens entwickelte KI-basierte Sound-Plug-in sowie weitere Tools an der Schnittstelle von Tanz, Klang und Bild selbst auszuprobieren.

An evening of performances exploring water sovereignty in dialogue between Basel and Buenos Aires.

The Perfromance evening opens with the experimental drag performance „Sirena Rioplatense“ by Ricx Schüpbach—an aesthetic and critical inquiry into the Río de la Plata. Schüpbach, whose work moves fluidly between journalism, visual art, performance, and sculpture, was born and raised in Switzerland and has lived in Buenos Aires for over half a decade.


After a short Setup change, artist, curator, and geography teacher Yolanda Esther Natsch from the KASKO Team will contextualize our local setting on the River Rhine with a brief speech.



The main piece of the evening, „Emerging Sound Disorders“ by the Argentinian collective Audiostellar, invites us into a powerful sensorial immersion. Combining sound, visuals, technology, and dance, the performance explores the complex politics surrounding the sovereignty of the Paraná River.



To close the evening, Fuego Fatuo—a duo within the Audiostellar collective—will perform a concert. An open bar will accompany the event, offering space for informal exchange on the works and the themes addressed.



On the following Saturday, Audiostellar will host a hands-on workshop. Participants will have the unique opportunity to experimet with the AI-driven sound plug-in developed and used by the collective, alongside other tools connecting movement, sound, and visuals that were used in the performance.
